WGM Dorsa Derakhshani will spend her holidays and play the Word Chess Trophy in Tenerife!
Dorsa was born on April 15, 1998 in Tehran. She is WGM (Woman Grand Master) and IM (International Master).
After winning the World Youth Championships under eight and ten years, she began her top level training with Grand Master Elshan Moradiabadi in 2010.
In 2011, she earned her first medal of young Asians: second in girls under the age of 14. This fact had a huge impact on her that she thought she could then win the title of woman Grand Master.
She won the Asian Youth Championship three times. In 2012 she won the Under 14 Female title and received the title of Fide Master.
In 2013 and 2014, she won the Under 16 women title.
In 2015 she became the second 18-year-old girl in the world.
In 2016 she earned the title of Woman Grand Master and the title of International Master . She was the only girl under the age of 18 with both titles.
She currently has 2306 elo points (best elo: 2401) and is part of the U.S. Federation
In 2017 she moved to the United States and now is playing for the U.S. flag.
She is attending a college in St. Louis, Missouri
