Dear friends, also WFM Mariagrazia De Rosa also spent her holidays in Tenerife playing the WCT.
Mariagrazia was born in Naples on July 10, 1988, where she still lives. She holds the Woman FIDE Master title (WFM) and as of 2014 also the FIDE Instructor title. She started playing at the age of 6 and now is one of the best Italian chess players. She won the Italian Women's Chess Championship three times: in 2003, 2010 and 2013.
She also participated in four Olympic games with the Italian Women's National team: Calvià 2004, Dresden 2008, Chanty-Mansijsk 2010 and Istanbul 2012. During the 2014 European Women's Championship she earned her firs norm as International Woman Master.
In May 2017 she won the Italian Women's Team Championship (CISF) with the Caissa Italia team “Pentole Agnelli Bologna”, getting 4.5 points out of 5 games played! From 2017 she is Instructor Captain - Tutor SNaQ of the Italian Chess Federation. In July 2017 she reached her Elo record, equal to 2161 points. From the second half of 2017 she is working for chess.com and, moreover, has been teaching chess in schools and Associations since 10 years. Mariagrazia is third of four children (two older brothers and a smaller sister) and is very close to her family and to her magical land, Naples. Great fan of Napoli's soccer team and she loves good food.
She is currently sentimentally linked to the American Chess Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura.
In recent years she got close to Asian culture, loves Japanese cuisine in the same way as the Italian one, and has become a cult of green tea. In the future, she would like to deepen her knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine and ayurvedic medicine. Dreams a trip to Japan.
